Star Stream by Focus Astronomy is a unique outreach experience that allows you to explore the wonders of the universe from anywhere on Earth.
Star Stream is an interactive, digital star party that takes place live on the Focus Astronomy YouTube channel. During these events our team streams live images directly off our telescopes to the world. Throughout the live stream our astronomers move the telescope to different objects and talk about interesting facts, phenomena and stories behind the object. Attendees can ask questions and request which objects to view through the Live Chat during the stream.
These live stream capabilities allow Focus to share the wonders of space with people all over the world. With the aid of technology we have removed our geographical limitations and can now share these amazing wonders with everyone. Our telescope system is hosted at Skies Away Remote offering dark skies and amazing conditions for observing.
Star Stream is not just limited to faint objects either, we can easily do live streams of the Sun, Moon and special celestial events. We use our capabilities to ensure anyone who wants to see something amazing can. It is a perfect element for educational outreach to be used across the globe.
If you would like to watch a past Star Stream episode you can watch all our episodes on our YouTube channel. Up and coming streams are listed below and are open all ages. Don't want to miss an episode? Subscribe to our YouTube channel so you don't miss upcoming events.
Star Stream is a live and is subject to weather and technical capabilities. We look to host Star Stream events ever other Friday night (this allows the sky to change a bit between episodes). Special event streams will be announced on social media and here on the Star Stream page.
